Home > Cricket > Rain Rules Australian ODI Rain Rule The Australian Rain Rule is calculated for the team batting second by taking the highest scoring overs of the team batting first and deducting it by 0.5% for each over lost. This rule has been implemented since the 1992/93 season and is based on results of the 1991/92 World Cup, whereby had this rule been in place, the matches would have been equally shared between the team batting first and the team batting second.
